BOKSBURG
CRISIS CENTRE
Sandra Morris 083 654 6474
On 24 hour call for all 5 police stations in Boksburg. When a rape is
reported, a crisis centre volunteer is contacted who along with the
District Surgeon meets with the survivor and police at the center, CID
offices, Commissioner Street, Boksburg.
They then do an examination and the relevant forms and crime kits are
completed. Medicines, including antiretrovirals, are prescribed, HIV tests
done, and the survivor is offered bathing facilities.
The Boksburg centre also has counseling facilities for the survivors of
rape as well as traumatic crimes. Volunteers need to be locals as we are
mostly called out during the night.
