Face-to-face counselling by appointment.
(Two-thirds of counsellors are women, rape survivors have the right to request a female counsellor, male survivors are counselled as well as relatives of survivor. Face-to-face counsellors are supervised by a clinical psychologist)

Rape Crisis, Pietermaritzburg joined Life Line in PMB in December, 1998. It has 79 Lifeliners trained in rape crisis counselling and offer a fairly high standard of free counselling.
Rape Crisis staff also do educational and outreach work in the peri-urban areas.
