Rape cases not serious medical problem, Business day, 2 December 2003
Only a quarter of doctors and nurses who treat patients after rape
have been trained appropriately, according to research by the Medical
Research Council. A report by the SA Gender based Violence and Health
Initiative at the council found that 26% of doctors and nurses who treated
rape cases did not think them a serious medical problem.
