Gender violence is increasing in

In any one month, the Stop
Gender Violence Helpline receives 36 000 calls from victims of abuse -
and the number keeps increasing.
Speaking at the relaunch of
the gender violence helpline, Charlene Smith, a journalist, novelist
and rape survivor, said it was easy to blame the government for all
