Stop Abusing Women, 27 January 2009
We are trying to Locate Companies or Organisations that can provide Abused Women with:
- Emotional & Physical Support
- Emotional & Physical Advice
- Financial Support
- Financial Advice
- Legal Support
- Legal Advice
Maybe they can "Post an article link" on the page with info so that Abused women can contact them anonymously etc. or through looking at the page.

We are busy setting up a Facebook group Called ³Stop Abusing Women² with the following objective:
To utilise the power of Facebook networking to get abused women to come forward and share their stories with other abused women and to hopefully get it past on to the authorities, so that charges can be brought against the abusers and have them stopped. Lets not forget the providing of support for the abused.

Your heart is in the right place Danny, but you contravene the law if you allow details of abusers to be publically noted - the laws of libel pertain, so be very, very careful. The precept of innocent until proved guilty is an important one. There is already one case against Facebook users that was succesful in the SA courts. Women must go to the police direct.

Rather help them by giving names of organisations that help, you can mention our website, but if you do a search you will find we mention many others on this site. Good ones in our experience (because not all are), are any Netcare hospital, Rapcan, Rape Crisis Cape Town and PE, Childline, Nisaa, Open Door (Durban), rape clinics at most government hospitals, Stop Women Abuse helpline at Lifeline, GRIP in Nelspruit, National Council of Women - if I haven't mentioned one it is because it is not as good as it should be. They should look up in their telephone directory to see if any of these are active in their town, alternatively the Stop Women Abuse help line of Lifeline is national and can direct them to an organisation close to them. Again, I need to reiterate that not all organisations set up to help women are very good, so they should not be disheartened they must keep trying

And thank you for your generous efforts
