HEALING Speak Out! Does not endorse any of these therapies and receives no payment to list them, however, many of us have found healing through therapies like Reiki, massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and other treatments, as well as the use of herbal immune boosters. TREATING HIV - OR TRYING TO PREVENT HIV - WITH VITAMINS Selenium and vitamins A, B12 and Zinc have shown themselves to be effective against HIV. No micro-nutrient except selenium has shown the ability to delay HIV related mortality. Aspirin or salicylate drugs have been shown to reduce HIV replication by about 60% to 65%. This has been reported in prominent journals like Science and Nature. Aspirin reduces HIV by inhibiting nuclear factor kappa bidning )NF-kB), the transcription factor that stimulates HIV gene transcription. The safe and effective dosage of aspirin is one gram per 45kg of body weight per day. Selenium acts by inhibiting the NF-kappaB pathway of HIV up-regulation. One study showed that selenium delayed HIV mortality by two years. Take 100 to 200mcg per day. Additional moderately strong vitamins include Asacol, 5-ASA; Tepoxaline; and Sulindac, Clinoril. Strong inhibitors are Sulindac sulfide and sulfasalazine. Some scientists have suggested that a therapy including ddl, hydroxyurea and chloroquine or hydroxychlortoquine (particularly given malaria as an activator of HIV, particularly in HIV+ pregnant women) may be an effective combination against HIV. Drugs that
are NOT suggested for use in patients with HIV include glucocorticoids
such as Prednisone and immunosuppressive drugs such as Cyclosporine. © Speak Out Terms of use |
